Does anyone else find it difficult to judge their bump?

I'm 22w pg with twins and so have a rather large bump. I keep bumping it - ie, I go to the fridge and open the door into it etc. I don't remember having this problem with dd1 but she's 3 so my memory might be hazy. Is it just me?

a few weeks ago (actually about a month ago now) I ironed mine... and i still have massive scar where i did it! Im 23 weeks now

Oh yes! At 37 weeks I still think I can just take a step back or suck my tummy in to let people past. I also think I can squeeze through gaps in doors that I used to. :o

I tried to walk thru a gap in between 2 treadmills at the gym at about 20 something wks. I had taken this shortcut hundreds of times before.

I had to reverse myself out once it became apparent that I could no longer fit. Was v embarrassing but am grateful that I didn't actually get stuck!

nannyl ouch for ironing yours! Hope you're okay. LDNlady I had some pictures taken with friends at the weekend and found myself sucking in my tummy in - yeah, right, that'll work! lol

ur not on ur own hun, im 32 weeks and fed up of knockin my bump or ppl tryin to push past me, working on a till as well i often get stuck trying to manouver around the till, or ill get customers throwin heavey things down nearly crushing my bump, iv often shouted at ppl especially men to watch the bump!!! last night i was putting some stock out and a rather rude lady pushed passed wen i said excuse me she looked at me as if to say well why were u stood there any way, and even gave my bump a dirty look grrr some ppl eh i cant help being the size of a house and the width of a cow xx

lol I'm almost 23 weeks and last week I decided to make pastry then when I had finished I realised I had decorated it with flour as I had forgotten it was there.

Yup. 16 weeks with twins here, and realised at the weekend that I couldn't actually squeeze round the end of a church pew the way I've been doing for the last 7 years.....

Actually, the other thing I've found is being over-protective of it. Just been in a busy musical instruments repair workshop and put myself in the corner so no-one could accidentally bump into the bump, IYSWIM.

I'm 34+1 and keep finding myself ricocheting off things

I caught the bathroom door handle with my belly button a few weeks ago - ouchyouch!

I'm so glad it's not just me! You'd think that by the time I've got to #4 I'd be used to having a belly (after all, I've spent 9.5% of my life pg ).

Sadly not. I keep holding it in (dream on), walking into things by mistake etc. My particular speciality is walloping dd2 on the shoulder as I walk past. Hurts both of us quite often. And it's going to continue for at least another 8 weeks!

Its been burnt on the oven door and gets half my dinner down it!

Oh yes, have had this twice now. Burnt the baking tray on my bump whilst serving food, as it was too close to it but I didn't realise. Second time was this morning walking through the door but I ended up walking and stumbling into it.

Glad it isn't just me! I spend my whole time bumping into door handles, knocking poor DD in the face when I bend down to her (she is just the wrong height), and my finest hour at the weekend, when I got up from the table, moved sideways and swept my plate off the table onto the floor with my bump!

My favourite is opening toilet cubicle doors onto the bump.
Ouch. At 40+5 I can't get any bigger though!

My parents in law have a separate toilet and bathroom, and the toilet cubicle is tiny. Towards the end of my last pregnancy I was unable to manouvre myself onto the toilet without a considerable amount of contortion round the door, toilet roll holder etc. A couple of times when I was in a particular hurry I had to leave the door open as it was such a complex and lengthy procedure to close it!

I'm 20 weeks and have just had to change my desk around to move my computer screen nearer to me as I can't sit as close to the desk as before! Something I definately hadn't anticipated! (dunno why). My mum laughed when I told her and said that she get getting a wet bump when washing up....

I am also incredibly protective of my bump when on the metro - I hate being in crowded places with everyone rushing past. My bump has not yet been hit but I do cross one or two arms over it and glare at everyone!

I am almost certain I have the reverse of body dysmorphia...even before becoming pregnany I would constantly have bruises on my hips/arms/thighs from gaps I launched myself at on the assumption I could fit through....

24+4 here and not had any bump squishes yet, however I am constantly dropping food on it did it just all go in my lap before?!

Ha ha, so glad i'm not alone, i get my bump wet when i wash up, get it covered in flour when i bake and burnt it with the iron the other night :) I'm 36 weeks.

Yup just had twins and always bashed ny bump and even shut it in the car door!!
