Its effectiveness rate is generally reckoned to be around 99 per cent, which means that if 100 women use Mirena for a year, then only one of them would get pregnant.

So highly unlikely...but, there has to be that one. If you can feel your strings and nothing else chances are it's fine and you aren't pregnant. Your cervix moves up and down throughout your cycle so that may account for the strings feeling different.

Phew hopefully just a virus then.

I hate to say it but I got pregnant on the mirena coil. We only realised when I miscarried.

However, it's extremely unlikely. [optimistic]

Yup. Poas then if it's +ve deal with it. If it's -ve, keep an eye on your strings throughout the next months and go to gp if you feel they're consistently lower than they should be.

I had mine checked whilst having a smear and was told it was falling out, so they took it out and said "lets hope you haven't been having sex recently" well i had, and 9 months later i'm looking forward to having this baby out.

My friend got pregnant with the coil we called it the miracoil baby. But seriously it was a shock but she is so so happy now with her beautyful girl xx
