At what stage of pregnancy am I reasonable to stop DH going out drinking?

I am 38 weeks with DC3. DS1 was born at 38+3, DS2 at 39 weeks. At what point am I justified in telling him not to drink on an evening out in case he has to drive us to hospital?

Yes, tell him he needs to treat every day as though he's going to rush you into hospital.

Totally sympathise! I'm 31+5 but with my pregnancies I'm about the same point as you, could be anything from now for the next 2-3 weeks, but more likely to be sooner. OH has decided he's going away for two nights this weekend, one night to spend with his other children (fine to see them but same day would be better) then he's going to go and see the rugby with his mates. He's going to ask his parents to look after the children - he doesn't know but Mum has primed them and they're furious too! His mum has had an ear infection that caused palsy and ended up being kept in as they thought she'd had a stroke. Her heart is irregular and she's lost loads of weight because she keeps throwing up. His stepdad is looking forward to the call because he's going to tell him what he thinks...

Thanks for your replies. Funnily enough I'm not cross with him. The thought just occurred to me as he was going out on the bus this evening so he could drink. Maybe I am in denial about the possibility of imminent labour (and so is he?)!
Think I will text him the verdict of the mumsnet jury then settle down with a curry and Harry Potter ......... (and look up a cab number!).
