sorry, I know this has probably been asked a million times. Just went to the loo and there was red blood about the size of a 10p when I wiped. It's happened twice this morning. After a mmc in Jan I am totally freaked out. EPU is closed now but I will go on Monday. In the meantime there is nothing I can do except panic. Is this definitely bad news?

no it is NOT definitely bad news. bleeding in early preg is common, and often all turns out OK. nothing you can do until scan though, but try to relax xx

Dropdeadfred · 14/05/2011 12:29

i cant give you 100% reassurance..I have had repeated mcs...BUT once when i had bleeding at 6 weeks I was so angry that it was happening to me again...and when i went to the epu there was ahappy little hb there..(much to the sonographers delight as she had just read my history) and that little heart is beating in my 6 yr old dd now - best of luck!!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 14/05/2011 12:58

That's pretty much where I'm at, fred. After my mc, anger is predominantly what I feel now. I know that no one can say I promise it'll be fine. I've googled and read the success stories, just need something to keep me going I guess.

Am having twinges but I had those with DD, again, I know they can be normal. Argh!

Thanks both. Why do these things always happen when there's nothing you can do? Yesterday I could have done something.

definitely not bad news, but of course it is essential to get it checked out. i had bright red bleeding with dd1.

Folicacid · 14/05/2011 13:57

I've had bright red bleeding, brown, pink and clotty bits at 5/6 weeks, 7, 8 weeks and all has been well so far. Try not to panic, although having been in your shoes I totally know that this is virtually pointless to say!

Please don't google any more though as you'll find lots of very real and sad stories about bleeding and mc but you have to stay positive. If you are not in any pain that is a very good sign.

loueytb3 · 14/05/2011 19:59

I've been where you are, mmc at 12 weeks, then brown bleeding in next pg at 6wks, red bleeding at 7wks. I thought the worst but EPU found a hb at the first scan and I'm now 33wks pg. I was told you have a 50/50 chance of a good outcome with bleeding and its very common. Wish you the best of luck.

hotcrossSES · 14/05/2011 20:03

Thinking of you. Take it easy over the weekend and hopefully the EPU will be able to see you Monday. As others have said, it is definitely not bad news, and I really hope EPU manage to give you reassurance of this.

OrangeGloss · 15/05/2011 07:50

I had heavy red bleeding around that stage, and after a MMC at 12 weeks felt so scared and helpless. It turned out to be from implantation and I'm now 24 weeks. I was pregnant straight after the erpc and the dr said the op may have left my cervix sensitive and more prone to bleeding. I hope you are managing as best you can, my fingers are crossed for you

harassedinherpants · 15/05/2011 10:30

Any news?? Sent you a message. Thinking of you lovely xxx

hazeysun · 15/05/2011 17:16

Hi Gwen I'm in the same boat. 6 weeks, bleeding and scan tomorrow.
FX for us both.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 15/05/2011 18:23

Thanks a million for the responses everyone. No news so far except, thankfully, have had no more blood. So, it happened twice yesterday morning and then nothing since. Will be at the EPU for 7.30 tomorrow morning so will know more then, hopefully it's a one off. I certainly still feel lousy although I know that's no indication.

harrassed, saw your message, thanks :) I'll update tomorrow. How are you doing? Hope all is well :)

hazey sorry you're going through it too. I really hope your scan tomorrow is good news. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Let me know what happens xx

All good here lovely thanks, and I'm glad it's uneventful your end! It's a pretty crap club we're members of........

Fingers x'd for you, and also you hazey.

LoopyLoopsBettyBoops · 15/05/2011 20:27

I had bleeding (heavy and red) at 6 weeks, and it was all fine, just for an other bit of reassuring anecdotal evidence. Knowing that won't make it easier though, so I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for both of you. :)

GwendolineMaryLacey · 16/05/2011 10:09

Morning all. Just got back from the EPU and all is fine, heartbeat and everything where it should be so I can breathe a sigh of relief for a while. Thanks for the support everyone :)

hazey any news?

that is WONDERFUL news. Grin

hazeysun · 16/05/2011 11:38

Congrats Gwendoline!

Not so good for me. They couldn't see anything there at all. I'm okay tho. was kind of expecting it as have been bleeding pretty heavily.

need to wait for some more blood tests to rule out eptopic as although the didn't see any evidence of it, my hormone levels were still high yesterday so i think they're worried it could have implanted elswhere but too small to see. So I'm just hoping for a normal mc now rather than a dodgy implantation!

Will ttc again and I feel hopeful for next time.

lovely news for you gwen. xxx

GwendolineMaryLacey · 16/05/2011 11:42

Oh hazey I'm so sorry. I've been watching out for an update, really hoped it was good news :(

Take care of yourself and come and talk on the mc board if you need to. Loads of us have been there. I'm really sorry xx
