Just wondering if my second baby is going to drop? He was head down at 28 weeks. Am 30 now.
Does drop and engage mean the same thing?
Will my bump drop?
Am I right in thinking he won't engage until I go into labour?

Answers on a postcard please Grin as Dr. Google was confusing me.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I am currently pregnant with baby number 3 and mine have always engaged quite early on (I'm currently 32+3 and have been engaged for at least a couple of weeks) although I have never really noticed any of them "dropping". Well saying that I can remember with the first two waddling round and holding just under my bump as it did feel like they were a lot lower.
I think what I am trying to say is that I don't know about the drop thing but with the baby engaging they do say that 2nd + babies don't always engage until labour but everyone is different! Good luck

Second and subsequents dont tend to engage as early as first ones, and many, mine included, not at all until in labour. The "drop" is from the baby engaging, so dont be at all surprised if it doesnt happen until just before or even during labour.

I am 38 +5 and still havent engaged and dont expect to tbh!

Thank you for your replies.
I guess I'll see what happens and what this little one wants to do.
He's head down so I'm thankful if he could manage turning over so I don't have another back to back labour I would be thrilled.

Good luck ladies
