problems breathing...

I am just over 34 weeks with my 2nd pg and have noticed that I kind of get out of breath very easily eg. just from standing. It's not the sense of my lungs being squeezed, like in my first pg, and it's not the light-headedness from first trimester. It's a bit like all of a sudden I walked up ten flights of stairs. Anyone else?

anaemia can make you breathless. Speak to your MW.

Hope you're OK Smile

I have this too (i'm 33 weeks). I also find that after I start to feel out of breath my heart starts racing.
I burst into tears the first time it happened as was pretty scray. I am having my baby in america under consultant care, and they said it is a side effect of all the extra blood in the body and squished lungs. But I do have anaemia... didn't realise that might be contributing. am popping the iron twice a day as instructed though, so hopefully that's not going to be a problem.

Yes, think this can be caused by lack of iron. I had it too but find it's a lot better now at 36 weeks. I was told to try and take your iron (supplement or iron-rich food) along with vitamin C for extra absorption. Also, make sure you don't take a supplement alongside a cup of tea as caffeine makes it less effective. I've been eating spinach, red meat, dried fruit, seeds etc, all washed down with a glass of orange juice. Also indulging in late-night snack of kids cereal fortified with iron! Hope you feel better soon.
