Can I take berocca while pg?

I'm 18 weeks and got a stinking cold plus the 'blooming' phase seems to have escaped me. I just want to feel a bit brighter. I looked on the website and it says they are not aware of any adverse affects in pg or bf but to look at Sanatogen pg vits instead. I don't want to take them as it makes my HG worse, as might berocca but I want to give it a try.
Any clues?

I don't think there is any VitA in Berocca, which would be the concern with non-pg vits, so doubt there is a medical reason not to take them as such.
However, I've personally always found Berocca to be too strong a dose of something, makes me wee a lot and makes it go a funny colour (sorry it TMI), admittedly before pg, and so any beneficial effects were lost in the bleh-ness of it. Same goes for Centrum and other high-dose multivits. This may just be me though, my DH doesn't like them either but that isn't a v independent control :) as we eat v similar diets.
Would some nice VitC and hot lemon be a good substitute? Or a lovely posh freshly squeezed juice?

Thanks jamama.
I've not found it a prob with the funny wee-all vits do that to me! Sorry tmi!

Good point about the vit a, I think it's the level of b6 that concerned me. But putting my rational head on if there was a problem they would say do not take if pg wouldn't they.
I don't have any other options in at mo and can't get out due to 2 blissful sleeping children!

The general advice I was given was to avoid general multi-vits (particularly if contain Vit A, which Berocca doesn't) and take only 'pregnancy friendly' ones - at 800x the daily limits for some of those doses in each Berocca tablet (hence the bright orange wee a lot of people get - your body trying its darndest to get rid of the excess!) I would personally avoid.

Might be worth asking your midwife/GP just because of the overly-high doses (which baby might try to sup-up)? they might have alternatives to help you out! - or even emailing Berocca and asking: [email protected]
