This is my second pregnancy but the last was 4 years ago and can't remember a thing. Also was living in a different country and I had private medical cover, the advice was also super relaxed about their advice of what to do/not to do.

When should I make an appointment with GP? When should my first scan be?

What herbal teas shouldn't I drink or shouldn't be eating?

Other than Folic Acid (about all I have remembered) is there anything else I should or shouldn't be doing?

I think I made an appointment with my GP when I had got a positive test and missed a period. It was just after xmas though so took a couple weeks to get an appointment. Think I was 7 or 8 weeks or so gone when I saw her.

She then told me to book app with MW & the receptionist told me that they waited until after 10 weeks (i think) before they'd book an appointment in. I had first appointment on a wednesday where she asked few questions and took blood, then second 'booking' appointment was great as she came to me on the Sunday.

After that, I had to tell her by phone next day that I defo wanted nuchal scan (offered in my PCT) and this would be done at same time as my dating scan around 12 weeks.

Had next appointment at 16 weeks I think after that, then 20 week scan and I have just had my 25 week doctor's appointment this week. Due to see midwife again in week 29.

Eating wise, yes to folic acid, but MW said not to worry about the vitamin supplements so much as should get what you need through good diet, though I've taken the ones for pregnancy anyway. No to some cheeses (stilton, goats cheese & brie), uncooked seafood, too much caffeine, alchohol, runny eggs etc. THink there's a list on the NHS website somewhere if you google it. :) I think I ate mostly fruit, lemonade and boiled sweets for my first bit as everything else made me want to puke! ;)

Congratulations btw! :)

You can see you GP whenever you like, they will refer you on to a midwife who will usually see you at about 10 weeks to book you in and make scan appointments. First scan is usually 12 weeks and then you have another at 20 weeks.

I don't like herbal tea's and have just reduced my normal tea intake and have decaff coffee when out.

I just took folic acid, I know you can get other pregnancy vitamins but you already have a healthy varied diet then you will be fine with just the folic acid.

I didn't see GP, just rang surgery and they made me an appointment with MW at 8 weeks. Then scan at 11 and 19 weeks, with a MW appointment in between.
