I went for my 20 week scan and have to return for another at 32 weeks as the placenta is presenting low and 2cms from OS.
My previous section was only 7 months ago.

Is the worry previa, accreta or both?

I only saw the sonographer who didn't really give me much detail and I don't see midwife for another 5 weeks, so thought I would ask here rather than google and poop.

Some good (though a bit scary) reading in the PDF here, www.rcog.org.uk/womens-health/clinical-guidance/placenta-praevia-and-placenta-praevia-accreta-diagnosis-and-manageme

My understanding is it's the risk of accreta more than previa when you've had a previous c-section, as the placenta can adhere to the scar and cause major bleeding and tearing.

Hopefully it will move up more by 32 weeks though and you'll be in the clear.

(I am waiting to see if mine moves up, it's my first pregnancy so no accreta risk more than usual, but the previa means I fall under the automatic ELCS policy. Really hoping to avoid that if I can, given the even bigger risks of accreta next time around!)

I knew there was an increased risk due to previous section, I am just not certain if by it being low this is still a risk, if that makes sense.

Sorry that didn't make sense, I meant an increased risk of accreta.
