Ooh I'm having one on 20th so marking my place.

Is yours high or low risk? I'm thinking I could be in for at least 2-3 days.

Jellyrollgumdrop · 10/05/2011 10:24

Having it due to previous tear.....so not sure what its categorised as....prob low risk to hosp!! LOL high risk to me!!! They count the day the babys born as Day 0 so I think if im in on the Monday I should be home by Thur.....

Im in on Thursday, I have been told to expect to stay 2/3 nights but my community midwife said I could be home the next day if I really want. There's a few posts on the childbirth thread about ELCS.

I had one for my first and am aiming for another for this one. Very best of luck.

This is something you don't necessarily need for while you're in hospital, but I found a proper hardcore girdle (not just a webbing belt) was great in the weeks that followed. Offered support and stopped me 'catching' the wound, especially if you have a child to deal with, and it helped everything go back to normal size quickly.

I'd LOVE to get out of hospital that quickly and I hope you do. I had my first privately and didn't mind the lavish suite, I don't relish being on a share ward for three nights this time around (am hoping I can go privately in the end again)

Jellyrollgumdrop · 10/05/2011 12:26

Thanks for that, what type of girdle...cant imagine wearing one of those Miss Mary of Sweden type things !!!! Grin
Im going for a private room this time and Im hoping ill get a rest while in hospital....I havent had a "lie-in" since DD was born nearly 5 yrs ago! ...or maybe im just living in hope!!!! Smile

bellefit.com/

This is the sort of thing, although this is a US brand.

Enjoy the rest!

Big Knickers
slippers that you get get on and off without bending
eyemask
earplugs
I'm in tomorrow for my elcs
Was told that I could be out next day too depends on how I feel

harrygracejessica · 10/05/2011 12:46

Def big knickers!!!

Ive had 3 c-secs and the first I was in 2 nights, first night the c-sec ward, 2nd night private room. 2nd c-sec was in 1 night on c-sec ward. 3rd c-sec was in 3 nights, 1st night on c-sec ward then private room for 2 nights.

I didn't pay for the private room but if I had to I would as it's so much nicer having an ensuite etc.

Can I ask how many bits of clothing you took for your babies? How many times did they need changing a day, just trying to work it out so I can be as prepared as possible.

Jellyrollgumdrop · 11/05/2011 09:40

Thanks for the tips & if you can think of anything else keep them coming!!!
