Large bump measurement and glucose in urine, 4th pregnancy

Just some advice really, Went to see the midwife today (28 weeks) I am measuring 30.5weeks and she found some glucose in my urine. She said it could be an indicator of gestational diabetes. This is my 4th DC and with number 3 I had a glucose test (starvation) but it was fine.

However when she tested my urine today I had not had breakfast just a cup of tea, (was 9.30am appt) had brekky when I got home. She is sending off blood tests and will contact me if needed.

Just wondered if anyone else had experience of this, and if anyone knows how likely you are to have 3 'normal' pregnancy and then develop gestational diabetes with the 4th. (I am 33 by the way so not in the over 35 high risk yet )

I am 34 and this is my 6th baby (although fifth pregnancy not including early miscarriages as DC4 and 5 were twins). I haven't had GD in any of my other pregnancies, but had the GTT at 24 weeks as I had two of the risk factors (previous baby over 4.5kg and BMI of just over 30) and I do have GD. I was tested with DS2 as he was so big and didn't have it then or in any of my other pregnancies as far as I know.

I never had any glucose in my urine at any appointments though and still haven't had, I think this is the case for lots of women.

Fundal height can easily be out by 2cm either way, so 2.5cm isn't really too much of an indicator. That said, my fundal height has always been normal, even with my big babies.

Hopefully you won't have it, but if you have, better to know and have it managed.
