What does the baby kicking feel like?

hey, I'm 19 weeks today and beginning to get little sharp pains where baby is. Is this what kicks feel like? My first and I have no idea lol. Had 'wind' like feelings but these pains are new.

What did they feel like for you?

Once the kicking gets more established it is a wonderul feeling :) Really made me feel like there was a proper little person growing inside me, rather than just an inanimate blob.

It was weird at the start as you just don't know what to expect. A bit like butterflies in your tummy, or a fluttery feeling.

If it is painful though, rather than just a new feeling, and hasn't gone in a day or so, maybe get yourself checked out by the doc/midwife in case it's not the baby kicking and is a UTI or something as they can hurt in your kidneys/tummy area?

Best of luck with the rest of your pg and enjoy the kicks :)

Thanks, its not painful as such just different lol. I'm feeling it move as DH listened with Doppler so we could work out if what I was feeling was it moving :-)

I've got scan in couple of weeks so should be able to relate the kicking with the feelings for defo

i'm just over 21 weeks and sometimes it feels like he is stroking me and sometimes like he is dragging furniture around inside.

CrazyAlien06 · 08/05/2011 18:49

Heehee I like the dragging of furniture analogy :-)
I hope what I'm feeling is movement/kicking . Roll on scan day as really nervous and need to know if everything is ok!

im 22 weeks

not sure how i describe it but not normally painful... have been feeling regularly during the day for about 2 weeks now, and before that for 2 - 3 weeks could feel in bed IF i was concentrating.

I like the feeling.... to me it doesnt feel like butterflies... just like, um, like i can feel something moving / happening in there. and now its stronger it feels like baby is moving... probably because they are. These last few days i have been able to see it as something pushes out my tummy, and can sometimes feel it if hand is on tummy

Im probably imagining it all! Not panicking as worry enough as it is. I'll be chilling this week, enjoying my week as ita my bday Tuesday :) then chill out until scan. My new thought is that there is nothing I can do if there is anything wrong with baby now. So positive thinking :D :D no more worrying or negativity woooo

Like butterflies low down.
Like when you get tummy rumbles but a lot lower

Once the movement gets established - like you've got a small alien trying to get out!

DS felt like lemonade in my veins at 18 weeks.
By 30 weeks he could kick me so hard my legs buckled (he was breech)!

At 16 weeks, have not felt DC2 yet.

danio7 · 10/05/2011 20:22

mine feel like little babin is flicking me from the inside.
If you flick your belly, it's pretty much like that but on the other side!

I think that's a good way to describe it.
When i got the first flutters they felt like dread... like when you get bad news and your heart sinks. strange hey!!

:o
