Yoga is fine! Just do what feels comfortable. It will still prepare your body in the right way and make you feel great!

yoga should be fine, provided you feel ok... how far are you? i am 39 weeks and just did a class the other day.. just listen to your body

I am 37 weeks tomorrow, quite fit actually. but since the belly dropped yesterday it is harder to walk and sometimes there is weird stretching feeling below..

You'll be fine, just stick to what feels comfortable. I'm 39 weeks, have dropped and will be going to my session tomorrow evening :)

Good. Will go and see how it feels

Shouldn't be any problem. I'm 40 weeks tomorrow, bump has dropped, and I went in the last few weeks without any problems, and if nothing happens, will go again.

Yes, there is a "dropped" lady in my pg yoga class.

sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread, but how does exactly the belly drop? i am 39 weeks and the baby's head is engaged, but the belly is still sitting very high.. do you think should i be worried??

apelsinnka · 08/05/2011 23:13

lilly13 I am sure you shouldn't worry, everyone is different. I have a friend whose belly didn't drop at all but she gave birth right on due date.

when it drops it looks smaller when you at it down while standing, when you sit it kind of lies on the legs, it's a weird different stretch down there, it was very uncomfortable to sleep the fist night as I had to adjust.

I thnik some women do not notice it. Can you see your belly-button :)?

I went to a normal yoga class when DD had dropped and was 2/5 engaged. It didn't feel that much different to me TBH.

The good thing about antenatal yoga is that your instructor will have really good advice about what you should and shouldn't be doing. Just let them know that the baby's dropped and they might make some suggestions as to what to do/not do.

lilly13 my DD dropped so there was about 5" from below my boobs to the top of my uterus and I could feel her head between my legs. She was 50cm long and 6lb 14oz so maybe a bigger baby wouldn't drop so dramatically, not sure. That happened a few weeks before she was born. Some people never have it until their waters break or later.
