ok I know you can do these exercises without the "tools" so I don't want a tonne of responses telling me that. Just trying to find people that HAVE used them during pregnancy...... I can only find mixed advice but on shopping websites about using them whilst pregnant.

You can get just the plastic tube ones, weighted bullets etc but just wondering if anyone used them?

I used to do the exercises more regularly when not pregnant but since being pregnant it gives me an awful weird feeling/sensation which really puts me off I find them harder to do. sometimes feels like baby's fighting back too! I am 30 weeks and a non pregnant friend suggested I used something to help so would love to hear whether mners can advise!

I heard that you can't use gem until after pregnant! Not wise too! All your bits are in different places for a start and you don't want to risk infection up your flu!!!

I was told not to use the weighted cones while I was pregnant. It's a pain because I could do with them. Just doing the exercises isn't the same at all.

Were you advised against the tubes? Similar looking to tampon applicator?
Mind you copper makes a good point about infection. Could sterilise it I suppose?

If you're 30 weeks, you could just wait a bit longer if you want to shove things up your fanny. Really not a good idea when your cervix is beginning to soften and open up I'd have thought.

JimmyChoo17 · 08/05/2011 10:59

Don't want to shove things up there if am honest, but keep getting told to do these exercises prior to birth. As I say I did these prior to pregnancy but proving harder since being pregnant and feels very different - cam dancer you might get what I mean?!

Well everyone is told to do pelvic floor exercises when they're pregnant but you don't need to use a 'tool'. I know you said you didn't want anyone telling you that but I don't get why you are considering it if you don't really want to.

Why risk your baby for the sake of a few weeks? Your pelvic floor isn't going to collapse

Infection? They can be cleaned - just like a penis or other um things.

I know you don't " need" to and my situation is not fully explained on here hence I asked specifically whether anyone had experience/knowledge of using them. I would rather use them (if are ok to use) to help prep my fanjo for birth. I agree with you ginger penises, and other stuff gets put up there for perineum massage etc.

I have just spoken to someone who asked a midwife at an nct class last week. She is having her second child. She was told the smaller tubes non-weighted ones are fine as an aid, you just need to keep them clean. And unless you have had trouble or are unhygienic then there is no risk.
