Travel cot - recommendations?

I want to get a travel cot that would double as a playpen/safe space to put a baby down - any recommendations? Saw the babybjorn one in John Lewis today but £200 seems like quite a lot...

It depends how often you will be using it really. If its just to put baby down in now and again - would you want one with a bassinet near the top or does that not matter? I got one from Asda for £25 when our little one was born and we still have it and have used it a great deal. There are so many nice looking ones for under £200!

It really does depend on how often you are going to use it as a travel cot rather than playpen.

If you are going to use it as a travel cot fairly often then a one with a bassinet bit at the top is handy. We had one like that from Mothercare.

I got the mothercare one when it was on offer, it has a bassinette for a young baby and a cot top changer, about £70.

Perfect - would love one with a changer so will check out mothercare - thanks!

Smiths (the toy store) had 1 last wk which mum was looking at ... think it was babybjorn (?) it was about £50 and had a basonette, changing table mat and a mobile... didn't pay much attention to it at the time but it might be worth a look 4 u xx

We have the littlelife arc2, which works a little bit like a tent, is lightweight and can be pegged down for outdoor use. It's about £70 and worth every penny

Great - will check out mothercare - thanks!
