Pelvic Floor exercises, who's doing them?

I am currently 25 weeks pg with my 2nd dd. I keep meaning to do my pelvic floor exercises but somehow never get around to it. I read somewhere that you should be able to do them as you are driving or washing up etc but I find I have to stop and concentrate so would end up crashing the car!! Any tip's for fitting them into day to day routine?

Do them while you're watching the TV. Or in bed, just before you go to sleep at night.

This thread should be enough to make you find time to do them Wink

I can not do anything else as I'm doing them. I can't hold a conversation, read anything, - anything. I just have to concentrate hard on them. I'm still not up to the six sets of day that we're supposed to do, but I'm trying...

i am doing them while sitting on a birthing ball in front of my computer... that's the easiest way to do them. get a ball! they are only gbp8 on amazon

I'm having real trouble remembering to do them and also have to concerntrate and hold my breath to do them. I try to remember to do them in bed before sleep and sometimes when I'm watching TV, not often though! With first DD I did them allllllll the time, seems I'm destined for a saggy foo foo and incontinence this time :)

After ending up with a prolapse of the front and back vaginal walls after DS I am doing them every opportunity I can. Try associating them with a single activity to start with, like brushing your teeth, drying your hair or watching the news. I often do a set once I've turned the light off in bed just before I go the sleep and if I wake up in the night it's a fantastically boring activity to help you get back to sleep again!

I'm terrible at remembering.

I used to practice them during sex (tmi but perfect time ha ha) but I find doing them really uncomfortable now for some reason. I know they are essential but the feeling it causes is not nice. not sure if anyone can relate??

Anyone know if we can use those pelvic toning tools?

Jimmy - I've heard a rumour on here that for some reason we can't use the 'cones', etc. I'm not convinced though. Anyone else?

yummymango · 08/05/2011 11:58

Thank for your post as it reminded me that I should really start doing them! I have set an alarm on my phone for 6 times per day so I have no excuse about not remembering. They are horrible but I am sure it will be worth it!

apple99 · 08/05/2011 16:35

Glad I am not the only one finding it hard to remember to do them.

JimmyChoo I think we are advised not to use the cones during pregnancy as they can increase risk of infection.

Must try harder to remember!!
