My nipples - sorry tmi

i'm almost 12 weeks and the last couple of days my nipples particularly 1 is itchy, and a couple of times one has seemed a little damp (really not much) is this normal? Anyone else had this? Should I be doing something? Also I thought the other day I could smell a milky smell, although may have been in my head.

Well, I'm not much help I'm afraid as I don't have experienceof this, but didn't like to see your post unanswered! I believe that I have heard of other women experiencing this though.

Itchy, yes. More itchy when they get hot. I haven't had any dampness yet, but we'll all be getting a bit of milk in soon, I guess. It's probably different for everyone.

I had really itchy nipples around the 2nd trimester, it did ease off eventually but in the meantime I found E45 helped.

Thank you for your replies, from reading on the dreaded Internet I think my net bra might be irritating them, so am off today to treat myself to some new ones :)

Yep I get the itchy nips too. Some bras defo make it worse, even to the point of hurting.

I had this and it was caused by a seam on my bra - swapped to a better one with smooth cup and no more probs..

I'd completely forgotten about itchy nipples in pregnancy! I hated wearing a bra at all for a few weeks. I'd be going to the loo at work to have a rearrange and a scratch, and as soon as I got home the bra was off! The t shirt bras wih moulded cups were best for me. You can get them with or without underwire too.

Never had any leakage at all, in fact never had anything until after DD was born and my milk supply didn't come in till day 7. Maybe you'll be lucky with the BFing and have loads of milk for you LO!
