when I move suddenly - if I twist or like this morning when I layed back down quite suddenly I had a huge quite sharp pain across my whole tummy.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2011 18:27

i get it if i turn over too quickly or stand up to fast. were is your placenta hun? i would ring and see what she says i am seeing mine on monday other wise i would ring xx

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2011 19:31

um I don't know where my placenta is... inside me :)
should I know these things??
They didn't say anything about placenta so I assume it's in the ordinary place for placentas to be unless it moves in which case I have no idea because even if you ask me to feel for it I have no idea what I'm feeling for Confused

it's probably just muscular, you should give the midwife a call though, she'll know if it's something that needs checking.
btw, you won't be able to feel the placenta no matter how much you poke and prod, it's in your womb.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 06/05/2011 19:55

that's what I thought so how am I supposed to know where it is?? still Confused

the placentas location might be noted in your ultrasound report in your pregnancy notes.

G1nger · 06/05/2011 20:05

Your placenta's location will be noted on the notes from your first scan. But I don't know what this would have to do with anything.

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and keep finding nudges of pain when I move awkwardly (read: normally). I feel I just have to adapt to the limitations imposed by my bump... But of course, if you think your pain is anything to worry about then do ask your midwife.

MrsVidic · 06/05/2011 20:09

I had something similar a few weeks ago, was told it's muscular!

Whatevertheweather · 06/05/2011 20:10

Could it be round ligament pain? Is where your ligaments are stretching with your growing bump. I'm 19weeks are get the same shooting pain if I move suddenly or twist and especially if I sneeze! Have a chat with your midwife though to put your mind at rest x

lolajane2009 · 06/05/2011 20:11

i get it too and read it was normal. i am 21 weeks
