Anyone else found it hard to leave work?

Almost 36 wks with DC3 and I've been counting the days until I'm finished at work. However, now that I've started the handover to the new guy, I've found myself feeling a bit strange about leaving. Then today I tried to access my work email remotely and found that it had been cut off already (don't finish till next week). I know I should be gratefully bowing out as I don't want to breathe down his neck but ... any advice?

Cutting you off a week early is wrong - how are you supposed to work with the tools being taken away from you? Have they done that without warning? Or could it be just an IT glitch I'd query it.

I have my last day today and feel rather strange about it - I'm fine about the handover, my cover already started a few months ago to ensure a smooth transition, but I'm sad to leave, also because I'm leaving in the middle of a project which means a lot to me, but which I couldn't finish myself because of time constraints (not helped by illness, either).

It's entirely normal to feel strange about leaving work, after all you spend so much of your time there, that it is a huge change, to suddenly stop.

I felt weird about leaving. Still do. Currently 38+1. Have a really full-on job, which I love. My cover is great and I totally trust her, but I still felt really territorial about handing over my work 'baby' to her. Although, as luluzulu says, am sure when things get hectic after my real baby arrives, these feelings will be toast! :-)

I finish today and having felt ready for it, I am now feeling really strange and nervous about leaving! My cover hasn't started yet. Work has been such a massive part of my life and it's leaving to take such a massive leap into the unknown too.

I'm 34 weeks now, i'm supposed to be working to 38 weeks, but i'm so tired and achy and my boss is being such a prick I just want to go now! I'm sitting here wishing away the time until my last day on 31st May. I am .
