Just online with Next and im abit confused which size is best to buy for my newborn baby.
I want to buy her a summer jacket for the cooler evenings, but not sure whether to opt for newborn, up to 1 month or up to 3 month.
Not sure how there sizing runs, so really need some advice as there customer service are really useless in helping me.x

I've always found the sizing there to be on the average to generous side rather than coming up small. How much does your baby weigh? From my memory of their labels newborn goes up to about 10lb, then 0-3 months goes up to about 14lb, up to 1 month somewhere in between I assume.

Hope that helps

Not had my baby yet, she's arriving in 4 days :)
Just trying to do some last min shopping, as i really dont want to be going shopping with a newborn baby, as i earlier planned to do, which is why i am now trying to stock up...x

Ah, good luck, how exciting! In that case probably 0-3 is your safest bet but you could keep the label on and exchange if necessary.

Shopping with newborn is ok if you go straight after a feed as you should hopefully have a couple of hours (ish) until she's ready for another. Depends how easy your journey to town is too I suppose.

I'd agree with littlemiss that the sizing is towards generous.

I'd hang on with the 'stocking up' - people tend to be very generous with gifts for babies (even people you've never met end up sending stuff via relatives) and anything you do need, you can buy online once she is here :)

I personally would but the upto 1 month think it is upto 10lb, but it is generous. Newborn is upton 7.5 I think and I don't find it overally generous the newborn stuff to be honest.

I've just had dd3 and would get quite a lot from Next, funny enough I've always found their sizing small to average Grin but I have long babies. I really like the up to 1 month size, with a jacket you want it a bit bigger anyway because they'll have something underneath it. They do a newborn size around 8lb8, I used it for dd1, dd2 and dd3 were both over that when born so didn't get a look in. M&S have some lovely girls things in at the minute, again I like their up to 1 month size. Remember to get gift receipts and then you will have absolutely no hassle about changing or returning.

Don't take any labels off yet, not only is it an excuse not to pre-wash clothes but I made that mistake with dd2 and she was 2lbs heavier than dd1, the girl in the next bed to me got some lovely outfits but Grin. Good luck, dd3 is 11 weeks and I've just had to buy her some 3-6 months stuff, where has my baby gone!! enjoy every minute.

Having said that though I do agree with above post, unless it is essential I would wait, much easier for working out sizing and allowing others to get and see what you need.
