Did anyone attend nct class's with women who were at different stages of pregnancy to you and STILL end up with a good support group when it was your turn?

Hi all I couldn't get a place on on the NCT antenatal classes which would have been the class the month before my due date with similar stage women however there was not enough space so I have been moved to an earlier class where I will be attending during weeks 31 weeks to 34 weeks instead of later on. Has anyone else had to do this and still found they have had a good support unit from t he people met on the course even tho they are likely to be giving birth ahead of you?

There were 2 months between the first and last babies in my NCT group (I was last) and we still see each other regularly except a couple who have moved away. The teacher also held coffee mornings for several groups so I got to meet and become friends with the group after mine. I went from about 28 weeks iirc.

Thanks cattleprod Did you buy the membership too? I haven't opted for the extra membership mainly due to funds....but not sure worth it. The class content and the social side are my main reason for joining.

Yes we did get the membership, just for 1 year, because it allowed us to get into the nearly new sales half an hour earlier than Joe Public. The extra bargains we found in that half hour more than made up for the membership cost!

I did and had zero contact with the other attendees as I got left off the email list. I think it was partly because I was at a different stage so didn't really bond with the other mums ... I found the membership much better value, as I then went to loads of events where I met people due in the same month as me. I found the free classes at the NHS at the hospital combined with Mumsnet gave me all I needed...

The babies in my group were born 1 October to 20th December. We are all still in touch (2.5 years later) but tend now to meet in smaller groups. My 'best' buddies DO all have babies born within 6 weeks of mine, but I think we got close because we live close, rather than because our babies are close in age.

Yes ours were 6 weeks from first to last baby and we still meet regularly 2.5 yrs later, albeit in smaller groups because of work, but that's all.
