Washing baby stuff

Sorry I'm not sure where to post this!

I have non bio washing powder but wanted to know if it is safe to use Vanish stain remover in the wash too?

i would, and would use the extra rinse function at the same time

or napisan might work instead and perhaps be better?

I've never washed baby clothes in anything different from the rest of our stuff. Persil non-bio plus a softener (whatever is on offer usually, provided it smells nice).

And I've never used the extra rinse in my life!

2 of my children suffer with eczema (as I do) but washing their clothes in any other way has no apparent effect.

I use non-bio (Ecover) for whole family, which saves the effort of separating everything. For stained stuff, I rinse/soak in the sink for a while, then use Napisan on a hot wash and the 'extra rinse' function to make sure it's all rinsed out. I don't use a softener as I think they can have an effect on skin (though when all kids older will start as i like the smell). Occasionally something is just too stained and I throw it away, but that's pretty rare. Though DH has a tendency to just throw poo-stained vests/babygros away and not even try and wash them, which I usually disapprove of, but with DC3 (final baby) i think i may accept - the baby clothes are pretty well-worn now and won't be passed on!
