Hi

I am current 34+4 last night I started getting BH around 11 weren't very painful but were there plus back ache. I went up to bed and was woken around 3am with what I can only describe as a mixture of back ache period pain and very strong BH which were around 5 mins apart. Downstairs was painful too.....and very wet. I sat on the edge of the bed timing the BH and it felt as if I was leaking? Anyway that last around 2 hours of me walking around sitting on the loo etc and I managed to drop off again, then to be woken up again this morning at 6 with period pain, back ache and the runs.....it's not watery just very loose.

Can anyone help? I don't fancy another trip to the hospital......feel like I live there and have been LOADS!!

Go to hospital! Or at least phone them.

They will want to check the leaking - if waters gone, there's an infection risk (not immediately - over a few days).

The pains sound a tad like contractions, so that's reason number 2 to go in.

Good luck.

Sounds a bit like start of labour, as you are only 34 weeks id give the labour ward a ring.

BerryLellow · 03/05/2011 08:01

I think you need to ring your mw. It might be nothing, but it could also be early labour so best to be sure. Has there been any blood/mucus?

Bearcrumble · 03/05/2011 08:03

I'm sorry but I would suggest that you get checked out in case you're going into early labour.

Firstly I'd be a bit worried about the 'very wet' - you may have a leak which is allowing amniotic fluid to escape. They can do a simple swab test to check if it is.

The loose stool, period pain and backache also suggest a body that's getting ready to give birth.

It may well be a false alarm but I think with these symptoms you'd be daft not to get it checked.

Also if you are about to go into labour if you get checked now they can give you the steroid injections to mature the baby's lungs hopefully in time for that to work (needs 24 hours).

I thought my waters had broken over the weekend and I am 34 + 3. The doctor and midwives were concerned due to my gestation and were talking about steroids for the baby and antibiotics.

I was told that any pain at all and I should go straight back in.

They really will want to see you, and you don't want to go into prem labour at home in case the baby needs any assistance from being early.

Give the hospital a call!!

SavannahRose · 03/05/2011 09:00

i've called the hospital. They have told me to monitor myself today and if the tightenings come bk to give them a call. I've been told to put a pad on today and see how it goes.....
MW seems to think the pain was caused by the dhiarhea....

not too sure whats going on will up date through out the day as daren't leave the house today!
