I've been feeling very uncomfortable since going for a walk earlier today - not really painful :) - walk was gentle and oly about 30 mins maximum.

Since then my bump has been tightening across and feels like a rock! Can't identify a definite pattern but they're coming and going and I'm getting a lot of pressure in my cervix.

I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow so will mention it to her then, until then I need a little reassurance, these are Braxton Hicks and normal, yes? Confused

Totally normal!

I have been experiencing them since around 20 weeks, they can be uncomfortable but shouldn't be painful...they also tend to increase in strength and frequency during the last trimester. If they are ever accompanied by period type pains (before 37 weeks), contact your MW.

Thank you! I knew it was normal but sometimes you need that extra hand hold :o also I was out yesterday with a group of girls who insisted on telling me lots of horror stories re birth and labour, including 2 who gave birth 5 weeks early Shock and all of that has been whirling around in my head adding to my paranoia!
