Baby journal/photo books

Hi. I'd quite like to get a 'your first year' type book for my baby as I'm massively disorganised and otherwise will forget everything and lose bits and pieces. But the ones I've seen are very soppy and very blue/pink conventional. It's just not me! Can anyone recommend one a bit less like that? I would just keep a tasteful album of some sort except that I'd forget to fill it in, and probably have no idea of the sort of stuff to enter anyway.

We've got one based on Guess How Much I Love You which we bought as we didn't know whether we were having a boy or girl and wanted to be organised. It seemed to fit the bill at the time and still does now our son is 19months old...

I've got one from Paperchase that was bought as a present. It's really nice, covered in "funky" animals and like a big filofax so that you can take out pages or add bits in. I've bought extra photo pockets from Paperchase but it also comes with photo pockets and sections for "my birth", "my first year" and "family and friends". It also includes cardboard pockets where I've put scan CDs and hospital bands.

They have some nice ones in Next!

I am doing my own scrap book which allows me to put anything in I want. I bought a lovely notebook from Paperchase. I am going to be a single mum and found all the commercial ones set up for mummies and daddies!! Doing a scrap book / journal myself makes it much more personal.

Thanks, all. The Paperchase ones do look more my kind of thing! Jill, I admire you and I'm sure it's going to be lovely, but I'd be hopeless at my own. I need bullying into putting facts into a pre-printed book, or I'd forget it completely.

This digital baby record book is a great way to organise your baby's first years. www.totsdiary.com

Hope it helps you.

I got this one: moleskine baby journal

Totally non-twee and lots of space for photos and your own notes. No teddies or baby bootees to be seen.

Also check out Parenthood Listography. It's quirky and different but really great :)
