Just wondering if im just being paranoid but i found out im pregnant with my second child on mothers day and got in at the doctors the next day,who confirmed the pregnancy and told me that i was 10weeks pregnant.
When i asked what the next step was he told me to book a midwife appoinment. When i booked in the next appointment was 6th May, which was a month away???
So now im 14 weeks pregnant and awaiting my 1st midwife appointment on friday. Just abit worried as ive changed G.P's since having my 1st daughter and dont know if waiting this long for an appointment is normal?
With my first pregnancy i found out at 12weeks and was seen practically the next day by the midwife and had my scan the next week???
Soooooooo confused, can any body reasure me that i havnt been forgotten about???

i would call the midwife tomorrow as you need a dating scan! its such a pain cos sometimes you just have to organise everything yourself. Congrats though!!!

I know how u feel I'm pg with my first went to gp and was told to call midwife team at other local surgery did that and first booking appt I could get was over 3 weeks later so will be a day short of 12 weeks before I see anyone which I don't think is acceptable. Have called them a couple of times with questions and to try get a cancellation but no luck.

I have low blood pressure usually and felt terrible last week so called them as was faint a lot and was told it was normal and they'd be more worried if I had high bp but how am I supposed to know if I can't see anyone to test me?

I also thought there was a time limit on some of these tests but they don't seem to be in a hurry at all.

I blame the bank holidays for the delay and I'm going to have to try not start out on the wrong foot with them next week when finally see them but am already quite frustrated.

If you are 14 weeks then you will be too late to have the nuchal test for Down syndrome if you wanted it- they will have to do the older style blood tests instead. But they may not have offered that anyway depending on where you are. I would def chase up you apt - I found that the first couple of apts were quite difficult to get then easy after that once they were more frequent.

i'd be concerned about the lack of a scan tbh.

curleywurley2 I'm having a similar situation. I went in for a "check in" with the community midwife at my doctors surgery straight away (5 weeks pregnant) but my booking in appointment isn't until 10.5 weeks and I don't have a scan appointment yet. I'm not having the nuchal test so I'm not too owrried about that but I feel a bit forgotten like you.

My area seems a bit slack and my doctors surgery is hopeless. I'll swap as soon as I've had the baby I think, but I think it might delay things even more if I try and swap now. The midwife is only there on Mondays and as there have been loads of bank holidays that means never at the moment, and I don't have any other way of contacting her.
