i really wanted the quinny zapp till i found out that it doesnt have a one hand fold down operation and it doesnt have a shopping basket. does anyone know of a similar buggy with these functions?

the m&p three wheeleres fold down single handedly but are no where near as small as the zapp. and the inglesina zippy (similar to the p3) also fold down singlehandedly, but i thin k that the zapp is unique to the market in that it can be a travel system and fold dowm so small.

i think its misdee that recommends using one of thoses net bags that you can buy from mothercare to hang on teh back of the handles.

tweeni · 06/11/2005 15:31

are those u mentioned two handles or just one big one? also i heard of you hang bags on the handles then it topples does the net thing make a difference?

Love my Quinny Zapp - I put the shopping on the handles and I can fold it down in seconds - I probably could do it with one hand - but god gave me two!!!

vickiyumyum · 06/11/2005 16:45

the three wheeler has one handle and the inglesins has two handles.

i think from what misdee was saying that if you have the net bag it is fine for smaller items but no good for large amounts of shopping.

i had a zapp but sold it because quite truthfully i hated it! i brought it because we had a hire car (renault modus) that had the worlds smallest boot and our normal buggy didn't fit into it lengthways. i got rid of it asap, as i found it a pain to fold the lack of basket a problem, hung shopping from the handles but had nowhere to stash raincover, and found the brakes a bit hit and miss, it also rolled away on flat surfaces. e'g when you stopped to look at something in a shop!

but they must be popular as so many people have them. i would recommend buying one from somewhere like ebay as so many people seem tio buy them and then sell them in as good as new condition.

The 3 wheeler m&p one we have doesn't fold with just one hand you need to use both. We have the 3 series sport. We originally bought the m&p ulitma (i think) but aftre 6 months have just bought the 3 wheeler due to us going away and needed the car seat to attach to it..must admit both are brilliant although completly different prams. May be an idea going to a pram store and having a play around with different ones. They can also advise you etc.

Hi everyone

I was looking at the Quinny Buzz but like you my concerns were that there wasn't any space for shopping.

I was in Mamas and Papas today and really liked the 3 wheeler sport, so easy to manoevre and felt nice and sturdy.

I'm undecided which one to go for as I really like the Pliko Quattro system - anyone got any comments on this one?

Thanks
Lucy

no, no bags on the zapp, it'll tip.

shhhh · 06/11/2005 21:48

LUCY1977 can only comment on the m&p one. I think its a brilliant pram. Easy to use, easy to put up & take down, not much space to put shopping which is a let down and you need to get a bag you can carry as there is nowhere to hand it off on the pram (ie baby change bag) otherwise love it!!

My parents bought us the Maclaren Techno XT. I can't praise it enough. It folds quite small, is relatively light and is suitable from birth. I also had a M&P pram and pushchair thing but found that nothing else fitted in the boot. The carry cot served brilliantly as a Moses basket but I hardly used the chair part. Both have excellent shopping baskets.

I would reccomed the Jane Powertrack, I loved using this and it folded up pretty easily, so easy to manoevure aswell.

As dd has got older I brought the Mcclaren Techno XT and that is really good, yes it is suitable from birth but I wanted somenthing with a car seat/ carrycot for the first 6 months or so.

I must say though I'm always seeing these quinny prams all the time now its amazing how things chance in a couple of years.

Hope you find what your looking for.

thanks for all your suggestions but still haven't found something i like . basically i want an umbrella style 3 wheeler (like the quinny zapp) but that has a shopping basket and can be folded down single handedly cos i get the bus a lot. anyone know of anything like what i've described?

OP posts:
starlover · 07/11/2005 22:57

i don't think you're gonna find it tweeni!

nothing that is suitable from birth and has a shopping basket is going to fold down as small as a zapp (or anywhere near) unless you go for a regular umbrella buggy like the maclaren techno

i find with my umbrella buggy that once the seat is laid flat you can't access the shopping basket anyway!

starlover · 07/11/2005 23:00

this may be it! quinny speedi

tweeni · 07/11/2005 23:34

does anyone know if the traxx marlin 3 or the cosatto mercury lite fold down single handedly and is it a fold flat or umbrella style fold?also does it lie flat so a newborn baby can use it?
does anyone know if the cosatto has air tyres or plastic and if it has an aluminium frame or not?
sorry to be so fussy!!

I have the Chicco Trio....has a carry cot for use from birth or a car seat that clicks onto buggy. The main buggy is an umbrella fold and is really nice and light and manouverable. I dont think it folds up one handed though but it does have a shopping bag underneath and a pouch in the hood for the raincover. I think its also available as Chicco Duo if you dont want/need a carrycot. link below if you want a look...

anyone got a traxx jaguar 3?

nhynes13 · 15/11/2005 13:35

I have a quinny speedi with carrycot and car seat, its def not as easy to fold as the zapp! especially for new born babies as u'd have to first take off dreami carrycot or carseat and its a lot more expensive than zapp 2 so dont go 4 that 1 if you bus it! only feature which'd suit u wud b it unfolds back up almost instantly with 1 button.

emz136 · 15/11/2005 20:25

the quinny zapp is not a good buy..its impossible to get up and down with one hand..and if you have sandals on then its even more of a nightmare!!!!! and no shopping basket..every girl has loads of shopping bags!!!!
