Hello,
I'm around 8 weeks with DC2 and am finding sleeping difficult allready!
My normal sleeping position is on my front and with DS I had t change this at around 16 weeks as it had got uncomfortable but this time round I'm finding the 'bump' is getting uncomfortable already.
I'm quite a bit over weight and had a C section last time so my tummy tone is zero and I can't see a bump as yet but my tummy sticks out anyway IYSWIM.
Not really sure what my point was now, but, is this normal? Any other slightly larger ladies able to feel the bump without necessarily being able to see it yet?

I'm size 10 and only 7 wks pg. I always sleep on my tummy but almost immediately it just felt wrong, from about 5 wks when I found out. Might be psychological in my case Hmm I don't have a bump, obv far too soon, but I am really bloated and farting like a trooper

I'm the same in that I sleep on my tummy. I'm 15 weeks now and starting to have to roll slightly onto my left side but it feels weird. My lovely other half has offered to buy me one of those long maternity pillows that go between your knees, under your bump and under your neck. I think that will really help me because I hate my legs sticking together in the night (tmi!). Here's a link to the one I'm getting: www.maternitypillow.co.uk/?gclid=CIDIo5ysxKgCFQEKfAodZn5Mrg
It looks a fair few quid but apparently you can use it for breast feeding etc too.

Natwebb that pillow looks sooooo comfortable! Wish I had one, I'm 17 weeks and normally sleep mostly on my back but am finding it really uncomfortable now - and when I fall asleep on my leftside I get woken up by serious cramp in my right leg, so I am trying Really hard to sleep on my right, but it just doesn't feel right (cue lots of very restless nights...)

Awww bless you sleepybump! Well, I figured that we're having so many things passed down to us (we've only eally got to buy a pram and car seat!) that I'd treat myself (well, that I'd blackmail other half into treating me, haha!). I'll let you know what it's like when I've tried it x

apparently you are supposed to sleep on your left side, something to do with blood flow and the position of the baby. Have read it many times in different pregnancy books and my cousin said her yoga teacher is always saying if she could tell pregnant ladies one thing it would be to sleep on their left side. Just swapped sides of the bed with my DH cos i like to sleep facing outwards!!

I couldn't sleep on my tummy from 4/5 weeks and started getting hip pain really early on so slept with a pillow between my knees. It was my bloated tummy and inflating boobs, felt awful sleeping on my tummy.

I'm always a tummy sleeper so it's been difficult but at 14 weeks my body seems to be getting used to it now with the aid of a Theraline pillow from 7/8 weeks - can't recommend it enough, have been away from home quite a lot and take it everywhere. It's like a long shallow V shaped soft beanbag that goes between my knees and then I wrap my body around it. Really loving the support it gives my little bump now too.

I got told the same about left side sleeping so asked MW and she said it is better but just try and sleep however you are comfy. Have had a nursing pillow that supports boobs and between legs for 2 weeks now (am 19weeks) and have a pillow in middle of bed for my back or tummy if I roll over. Might start getting a bit hot soon but it is very comfy and the nursing pillow is great for neck and back support if you et a chance to read in bed - oh I will miss my weekend reading time!
