I'm 25 wks preg and I swallowed a piece of filling (not white). Is it bad for the baby? Has anyone experience of this? Thanks.

Hiya oinkyoink,
My advice would be to give your dentist a call to ask. I am about 3-4 weeks pregnant and due some fillings (the silver/black ones) I checked with the dental nurse and she assured me that it would be OK to have them and at the slight risk that I would swallow any during the procedure it really shouldn't be any risk to the pregnancy.
Also: babycentre.co.uk has a really good 'you asked our experts' section. Go to 'pregnancy' drop down menu and select 'Is it safe?' , scroll to bottom of page and there are really good FAQ's you can click on, including one about visiting the dentist.
I must admit I am still a little on edge about getting these fillings!!! Hope this info helps you though x
