8 week scan and slow heartbeat

Hi, just in my first pregnancy. Went for a scan two weeks ago as I had some bright red spotting, all ok, the baby was measured at 5 weeks 5 days and saw the heartbeat. Had a bit of dark brown spotting last week and was already booked in for a scan today, the sac was 8 weeks in measurement and the baby was still measured around 5 weeks 5 days/6 weeks with a heartbeat but the doctor said it was slower than what it should be.
Could go on fine, but could miscarry. Booked in for another scan on 10th May

Anyone else has the same as me?

Really worried.

Bumping for you. Not had experience of this but hope things go well. Must be very anxious time for you. Take care.

Thanks so much, it is freaking me out, everyone is telling me to relax and all will be ok. Wish the docs could say that x

Hi jerseygirl

sorry you are going through this. Speaking as a sonographer I would be concerned more with the fact that there has been little growthof baby in two weeks. Obviously without having scanned or seeing images it's difficult to say for certain as there are different operators/machines etc to consider.
Did you have an internal scan both times?
Sorry if this is in different font sizes stupid phone.
As far as the heartrate is concerned the main thing at the moment is that there is a heartbeat. Whilst a 'slow' heartbeat is concerning it does not guarantee a bad outcome and unfortunately it's just a bit wait and see.

Hope this helps and praying that everything is ok for you

Thanks Muffins. Saw two consultants on my trip to the hospital. It was an internal scan both times.
I will be wishing away the next 10 days now for the next scan. Going to put my feet up, ear fruit and veg til it comes out of my ears and try and relax til then x

Hi me again, just thinking on the scan, a friend came with me who used to nurse and has two children, she didn't have much faith in the doctor and said he rushed around too much and thinking back on when he measured, he seemed to do it across the sac and not the same direction as the last dr who did it head to rump, does the fetus move or could he have made a mistake. I know I am thinking too much now, can't help it x
