HI there,

probably just being daft but... after basically having no morning sickness, no real symptoms of anything other than thirst and tiredness this week (18 weeks) I have had really nasty headaches, felt dizzy, been sick in my bin at work. I thought this was the time when symptoms disappear. Am I just doing it all backwards like the wierdo I am or should I be worrying - feel like I can't wait for the 20 week scan - worried about something being wrong with the bambino... do you think it's ok?

I'm 19 weeks or so. Last week I had a real surge in symptoms. Headaches, dizziness, vomiting suddenly. I just felt rubbish for days after having felt well for weeks.

I increased my fluid intake, took it easy for a few days and suddenly my bump has expanded massively. I'm thinking it was a growth spurt. The baby kicked like mad for a couple of days too.

I had the same thing last time and found that the 2nd trimester was weird for this sort of thing. I'd get low blood sugar quite quickly so needed to eat little and often and also found that I was less tolerant of extremes of heat or fatigue or anything really.

If in doubt though, see your midwife.

Perhaps you're coming down with a virus or something which is unrelated to the pregnancy? I wouldn't have thought it would be morning sickness at this point as you've not had it before. My first thought was pre-eclampsia which can cause nasty headaches, but according to NHS Direct you can't get that before 20 weeks.

I think in your place I would call the mw for some reassurance.
