Is it normal to get a small amount of discharge from my nipples at almost twenty weeks and for them to be sore and cracked.

Bit of discharge yes, but mine were never sore. I'd show the midwife :)

Yes, it's milk. You will probably find you get more as time goes on. Not sure about them being sore though, I've never had that. If you're worried, call your midwife of GP. Otherwise a bit of lanisoh cream might help.

I was the same and they where sore so MW checked them out on the next appointment and said they where normal and where being agrivatted in my bra so I slept topless and it helped.

I had the same thing and the discharge is quite normal and a very lovely lady from here recommended putting a non scented moisturiser like E45 on them to help with the cracking and pain and it was a god send. There are nipple creams you can buy but it's not worth spending the money on them until you REALLY need them.

ty. i might try e45. nipple cream is so expensive i was concerned.

My boobs starting 'leaking' from about 20weeks with both my previous pregnancies, and became quite cracked too. I bought Lansinoh the first time, and it was utterly rubbish & a waste of money in my opinion...useless for breastfeeding with too - its so sticky, baby's mouth got 'stuck' on it and couldnt latch on properly. My Midwife said to use vaseline - cheap, readily available, you can use all through preg for any soreness / cracking AND during breastfeeding, instead of an expensive nipple cream.

Yes I have been using Vaseline as well, went out and they where sore so I put some with Aloe in on that I usually use for my lips and really good so I'm still using that.
