Pulled muscle? Please tell me I'm overreacting

I had to crouch down for some reason at work, and when I went to stand up, my lower stomach muscles suddenly felt tight and sore across the lower part of my bump, which eased within a minute, but was a soreness I haven't had before (I'm 21+3).

Bump is now being boistrous, so I know it's still swimming around in there, and no pain since. Please slap me with a haddock and tell me I'm overreacting, I think I'm having one of those days

Hi OrangeGloss,
I'm not a medical professional, but I am 30 weeks pregnant and have had that too. Sometimes at night I stretch my leg out too straight and get a torn muscle pain in those ligaments that run along the side of the bump, at the bottom near my pelvis. It fades after a few minutes. I've also had the same pain you described when getting up too fast from the couch.

see this is what i've had when walking about I've so far put it down to braxton hicks - not sure if it is or not thou, failing that thought it was just the muscles stretching?

OrangeGloss · 27/04/2011 20:02

Thanks Parispremom that's what it felt like, it's reassuring it isn't just me

Davidtennantsmistress I don't know about braxon hicks, maybe it is muscles stretching?

I've had a mild ache in my groin area (sorry tmi) but since I did a lot of walking at the weekend I've been a bit sore in the leg/hip/groin department

sounds like you might of over done things - if bub's is moving well I shouldn't worry too much, has it eased off at all? if not might be worth ringing your MW quickly?

BH's are like tightenings over the bump area I believe, ever had it with DS, but apparently am this time. (am 23w)

Could it be this: www.babycenter.com/0_round-ligament-pain_205.bc

OrangeGloss · 27/04/2011 20:16

Thanks def not BH then, it eased off pretty much straight away I'm worrying a pulled muscle could have done internal damage, I'm currently being prodded so am hoping it means it's ok

Thanks Angels I missed your post, that's exactly what I've had, I've noticed it when stretching in bed but not like today's. It did go quite quickly after a rest

I have been getting it sometimes too the last week or so. Sometimes it's good to google (and sometimes not!!)

TurtlesAreRetroRight · 27/04/2011 20:25

Ha. I do this when turning over in bed.

I also tried to lift some weights the other day and had abandon the idea entirely to hunch over for a few minutes and feel like my innards were trying to escape.

It IS round ligament pain with me and I can set it off sneezing on a good day.

OrangeGloss · 28/04/2011 06:32

Thanks, it's really reassuring, I was actually too scared to google from past experience. I think that explains the hip/groin ache too

I hope it gets better for you both :)
