...has anyone actually brazenly eaten stilton, brie, shropshire blue (am actually salivating now...Grin) or similar forbidden cheese during their pregnancy in spite of all the 'risks' and lived to tell the tale...? Has anyone eaten such forbidden cheese (specifically) and been very ill or had pregnancy problems as a result...?

I miss cheese. A lot. Sad I know it's not really for long, but still.....

Oh nineweeks you have scared me now about the eggs- I was careful for first tri but now eat most things including prawns but have not had Brie and do miss it so may have a sneaky sarni. My mum is being funny saying I should eat everything as she doesn't want her grandchild developing allergies from not being exposed to foods. Kind of agree with her and have had lots of peanut butter, the banned list changes from year to year anyway so all in proportion I say (though may be more careful about eggs!.)

Oh ffs. I can't believe some of the smug, sanctimonious, holier-than-thou attitudes on this thread.

I am an intelligent, mature woman, and it is up to ME what I put into my body. And, thus far, this has included pre-packed Brie and cranberry sandwiches, pre-packed smoked salmon and soft cheese butties, bagged salad, white wine, cider, champagne, espresso coffee, Indian takeaways and Mr Whippy ice cream.
If it wasn't so fucking vile I would have probably had some fast food by now as well, but not even the pregnancy cravings could drive me towards McDonalds.

No, I haven't drunk more than two small glasses of wine at a time, and nor have I gorged myself to death on runny blue cheese. That's where I've chosen to draw the line.
But I've done my research and made my own decisions, based on the hard evidence available - not on the advice of shrieking harpies who would probably rather I locked myself in the house for the next 18 weeks, eating only baked potatoes grown from my own (organic) vegetable patch.
