my mum had me and my brother and sister premature and i wanted to know if this was hereditary. she also had my brother and sister very quickly and i wondered if time spent in labour is hereditary too any extent?also she only had pregnancy symptoms when carrying girls not boys - is this common?and again - hereditary lol. trying to work out if i can see what my pregnancy will be like in comparison to my mums!!

I don't know but you need to chill...all pregnancies are different..even your pregnancies will each be differnt.
I know you have posted quite a few threads on here and it sounds as though your are worried about a few things. The main thing you need to do is to chill and to go with the flow. How far gone are you..? I was exactly the same as you sound,I worried none stop from when I found out (4 weeks) and even now dd is 6 months and I worry even more !! LOL..Good luck it will all be fine.

The thing is tweenie that the media are partly to blame because they highlight so many things about pregnancy that it scare those of us who are pregnant at the time. TBH if you believe and follow EVERYTHING you read you just wouldn't do anything or go anywhere.
I am probably the worse person to advise you as I was so so very careful and like you I checked before I did anything....didn't drink, smoke, dye my hair, apply fake tan, checked I was ok to continue with acrylic nails, didn't wear very high heels but I suppose at the time I was just doing all I could to help my unborn dd.
You will do all you can to help your unborn baby to grown. Suppose what I am saying is to take things easy and to follow what you believe to be true. Trust your own judgements and so what if you have to do without things..(I don't mean that to sound hardsh AT ALL) its only for 9 months. Thats was my motto anyway. Good luck and congratulations.

I'm a journalist - sorry !! - Take very little notice of what you read in the press - its all blown out of proportion to get sales!

Your pregancy will be different from your mums - and each preganacy you have will be different to the last. My mum had easy labours - in fact she always says she had worse periods - I have bad labours - with 2 c-sections. But I am 38 and mum was 22 so age probabaly does not help.Take care xx

i totally agree with shhh and redhelen (hi helen btw), my mums and my labours and pg were totally different but my dd was the exact same weight as her dad was when he was born which i found quite strange. anyway, i think shhh is right, if you read everything and believed everything, then you would panic for 9 months. take it easy and relax, and let your mothers instinct take over, believe me, you'll have it. try not to worry about all the little things that are wrote in books and most of all, enjoy your pregnancy. Congratulations, in 9 months time you'll look back at this and be advising others in the same situation.

have to agree.. you just need to relax and enjoy your pregnancy..
i have 1 girl and 1 boy.. both pregnancies exactly the same... no sickness, sinusitis in first 3 months on both! was amazed ds wasnt a girl when he popped out!
Good luck
