Waters broke at 27 weeks

Hi I had to come on here as Im really worried and would love to hear any advice or stories others have had.

Basically my waters broke at 27 weeks. I was in hospital for a week and now back at home on bed rest. Ive have been given steroids to mature the baby's lungs and put on antibiotics to prevent any infection.

Before this happened I assumed that as soon as your waters broke you went into labour and the baby would be delivered within the next 48 hours. The midwives and hospital said I could keep baby in there for weeks but it depends on the patient. I just really scared for my baby as I dont know what will happen next. At this point every day is a bonus and im trying to stay positive but finding it really hard :( I am now 28 weeks.

Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice or stories would be great.

You need to look on the thread from southsearocks, her waters went at 28 weeks while she was in America, she gave birth at about 34 weeks, everything fine, the thread runs into hundreds of pages, x
