I would be grateful for any advice please lovely poeple. For the past two days I have had what I can only describe as period pains in lower abdomen and lower back. I am 31 weeks pregnant and saw my midwife on Wednesday and she said babys head is not engaged. My dd1 was born at 34 weeks ( 3 hour labour!) so I am particularly paranoid. Dont think these crampy pains are BH as they are pretty constant. Have also had some shooting pains in vagina. Could babys head have engaged in just a few days since I was checked? Any advice would be welcome.

Hi, maybe you should ring the antenatal ward for reassurance in light of you delivering early last time? Am not suggesting you have anything to worry about but I bet they can put your mind at ease better than any of us lot can!
take care x

I agree with ringing labour ward.

Having had previous preterm labour the labour ward couldn't be more sympathetic at my paranoia second time around. So don't feel silly. better safe than sorry

Def ring the labour ward.

Baby's head often doesn't engage until labour in subsequent births.

Good luck x
