Braxton Hicks - 35 weeks and not a peep. Is this normal?

Well, exactly that really.

Everyone seems to be having them and I feel I'm missing out! (or at least not doing it 'right' or something). They say it's a good sign, the body getting ready for labour, practising etc, so not having had any makes me feel my body won't be ready or practised when the time comes.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks!

Trust me your NOT missing out having them as we speak now!!! I'm currently 33wks been having them since 27 weeks plus I hav an irritable uterus so it makes thing 10 times worse. You might get them around 38 weeks x

vj32 · 25/04/2011 19:51

I had them a few times around 27-30 weeks, but haven't had them again since. Now 37 weeks. Not something I'm worried about.

Srse · 25/04/2011 19:52

i am 40 weeks and havent had any as far as I am aware! i dont think everyone gets them but not sure.

Maternelle · 25/04/2011 19:53

I am pregnant with my 3rd DC and I am not sure what a contraction is (had elcs). Am 32 weeks and I have been experiencing period pains, which apparently are some kind of contractions... Not having any is nothing to worry about.

TeddyMcardle · 25/04/2011 19:55

I didn't feel any right up until my waters broke so don't worry :)

Thanks, that's good to know and has put my mind at rest somewhat.
Savannah hope yours give you a break soon!

I didn't have any and went on to have a fairly efficient 10 hour labour (first baby).

Three DCs, and not a single B-H contraction.

Nothing, nada, until I was in labour.
