39+ weeks - period like pains

What it says on the tin really. Have had these on and off for the last week;any idea what causes them? Anyone else experienced them?

I have this too. Midwife said it could be the latent stage of labour, everything softening and getting ready but not quite labour yet! Mine is quite uncomfortable this evening but I've been busy all day! Am 39+1.

Ooh, exciting !

I had sharp, shooting pains every 10 minutes or so last evening, but things have died down again now.

I've been bouncing up and down on my giant ball, walking, keeping active, 'quality time' with husband and not much to show for it.

i had this for a few days with my first labour...cervix starts to widen etc...so any day now. good luck!

Well I thought last night that things were really getting started but after a couple of hours it all just went! Shall just have to spend today bouncing on my ball and walking again! Feel sorry for DH, he was so excited last night saying "this time tomorrow she might be here!" but that's now looking unlikely!

This has got to be the most frustrating bit of being pregnant! Days and days of is it/isn't it, when will I know, when will they get here etc etc. Fingers crossed its starts soon for you. Good luck!

Sorry to disappoint I've had this for the past three weeks now 36+5.

Still no sign of the little one, midwife has booked me in for a stretch and sweep next Wednesday. Really really hope I don't make it that far...
