Hi there,

I am having a bit of a thick moment - I was wondering if I need to be filling in any forms for child benefit etc. (or does that not exist anymore?)

TIA

How pg are you?

First form is for NHS prescription charge exemption - you get it from your MW first time you see her (or at least I did both times).

You are entitled to Child Benefit if you and your partner both earn less than £43K (I think). You get the form after the baby has been born - I got it in the Bounty Pack in hospital. There is Child Tax Credit too, more tightly means tested.

You are entitled to child benefit irrelevant of earning until next year, then if either you or your partner are a higher tax payer you will no longer be entitled to it.
You can't apply for this until after the baby arrives though.
As somebody else as mentioned the tax credit thing has all changed so it depends, all the information is on the directgov website.

If you are pregnant MATB1 at 25 weeks and working, and maternity exemption card is all as far as I know.
