Hello,
me and my DH are ttc baby number 2. I have been tracking my cycle and had done the deed around time of ovulation. I have had a few early pregnancy symptoms such as cramping on right side, lower back ache, nausea. Around 9dpo when I went to the toilet I had some brown spotting when I wiped this lasted till 10dpo I have taken a few tests and we’re negative. This morning at 11dpo I went to the toilet and had bright red blood and a large clot (I have attached a photo below) but no normal AF symptoms and my period isn’t due for another 5 days. The bleeding has now returned to brown colour and not enough to fill a pad. Could this just be bad implantation bleeding? Has anyone experienced this and still got a BFP? 😩

Hi @JSmart13 I am so sorry but I think a clot such as that would indicate a miscarriage rather than implantation bleeding. Have you got an early pregnancy unit or a midwife you could contact?

@tulipsunday i never got a confirmed positive pregnancy test so I don’t know if I was pregnant or not think was 10 days after supposed ovulation.

@JSmart13 i think it looks like a period clot so I guess you’ve just come on early?😔 very confusing though

@ChloeN it had pretty much stopped by last night and then when I went to the toilet this morning was back to tiniest light brown mark when I wiped. Two out of the 3 pads I have used have had nothing on it’s just when I go to the toilet and wipe there is a little bit so no idea. I have been reading some forums on mumsnet and people have had they have had a full of 3 day period and then got a BFP a week but I’m not holding out hope for that 😢

@SparkyBlue it has now pretty much completely stopped it was like pictured above for 2-3 hours top just when I went to the toilet and now when I go to the toilet there is just a small amount of brown blood and haven’t even left a mark on 2 of the 3 pads I have used so I don’t know.

I had implantation bleeding on both my DDs (not my DS) and there was definitely no heavy bleeding like the clot you had. It was like the start of a period light flow. It could be implantation and fingers crossed it is but it could also be a weird early period. I found when I was ttcing my period seemed to be either early or late despite always having a regular pattern I think ttc messes with our heads. I once had a 35 day wait for my period despite it being usually 28/29 days but probably if I wasn't ttcing I wouldn't have taken much notice . Best of luck and hopefully it is implantation

@JSmart13 it is really weird how it’s stopping and starting isn’t it! I had implantation bleeding too and mine was just light pink on one wipe but I’ve heard others say it is quite heavy and bright red!

@ChloeN yeah I know like it has pretty much stopped now I passed that massive clot and red blood at 9am yesterday and it had stopped by 12pm and returned to brown/pink spotting which is still the same now and it’s only when I go to the toilet it’s not going onto pads! I might just test next Thursday as my period is due next Wednesday

@JSmart13 i think it’d take a few days after implantation to get a positive anyway wouldn’t it? It doesn’t sound like a normal period to come and go does it

At 11dpo even if you had conceived, there would be nowhere near that much tissue. I would say unusual period/decidual clot/random hormonal nonsense. As long as it doesn't reoccur, you don't have serious pain or more serious bleeding I would just carry on!

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl no I have not had anything like this since 9am yesterday and bleeding has stopped it’s just back to the light brown spotting that was there on 8/9dpo no pain either when I was bleeding

@elle18310 i was just a funny period… I have very irregular periods but I am now 6 weeks pregnant
