I have the Angel Sounds one and have been able to pick up movement sounds since 12 weeks and the heartbeat since 14 weeks but not consistently, if baby was lying at the back I couldn't. Now I'm 20 weeks and I can pick it up every time.

My only advice is not to rely on a home Doppler as it's no substitute for a proper Doppler used by a midwife. I bought mine because I was paranoid about another missed miscarriage. Once I got past 14 weeks I've been using it more for bonding, DH likes to listen in because he can't feel the kicks yet. It's easy to not be able to find anything and panic or to pick up your own heart or the rushing of the placenta and presume everything is fine so if you ever have any doubts or concerns about anything in your pregnancy then make the midwife your first port of call rather than the Doppler. Especially don't worry if you can't hear anything, even my midwife struggled to pick up a beat at my 16 week appointment because bubs was hiding.

Now I'm feeling movements I'm using mine far less as the movements are a better measure of well-being than the Doppler, but I still like to have an occasional listen because I like the sound :)

I think I found this on one on these forums.

last night I downloaded istethescopepro from the app store (yup you need iPod) it costs 59p

I can hear both my heartbeat (put mic on skin not through a top) really well

then it took about 6minutes of searching around belly to find babies heartbeat! obviously it's not as clear or loud as midwifes but you can hear it never the less! I'm 23 weeks pregnant

you also have to use different headphones than the White ones given by apple (as I believe they have mic in that interferes with the sound)

it's 59p give it a go! :) x
