I don't suffer with PCOS but when I was just 5 weeks pregnant I was found to have a luteal cyst on my left overy that was 4cm by 6cm which caused me terrible pain (which is how they found it in the first place) The pain I suffered was certainly in my left hip area as well as feeling quite deep in my tummy and strangely I felt like I constantly needed a poo which apparently can happen :-/ After the initial first scan they had me back two weeks later to see what it was doing. Thankfully it had burst and was dispersing. At my 12 week scan they checked on it again and it was almost gone.

I was warned that it could have happened again during my pregnancy but I am now 33+2 and have had no re-appearance or problems from the cyst. At the 20 week scan there was no sign of it at all. I know this isn't always the case but that's just my experience. Hope it all goes okay for you.

I had a luteal ovarian cyst at my early scan and from all the reading I've done it is pretty normal, it happens every month and controls some hormones. Normally when your not pregnant it disperses and you get your AF, when pregnant it hangs around until the placenta kicks in and then disperses, in some people it continues through pg however in the vast majority of people it causes no problem. I had AF type pains on my left side around week 6-8 but I think that was just stretching and implantation.

yes, I had one of these in last pregnancy, it was like a nagging pain on my side that showed up at an early scan. You're right, the pain you have is probably from the cyst but they said that was totally normal.

By the time I was scanned at about 20 weeks it was gone and the pain had stopped Think it's really normal and the midwife said is actually good for the pregnancy producing hormones to support the pregnancy.
