Hello. Sorry for the rather self-indulgent post I just feel so low about this and don't really have anyone to talk to about it.

When I first knew I was pregnant (5weeks) I had a couple of weeks of noticing little signs like it was uncomfortable to button my jeans, had some morning sickness, felt stretchy pains. Now there is nothing. I can lie on my tummy with no problems, do up my jeans, no more nausea. Nothing. This is my second pregnancy and sometimes I wonder if I'm just being really paranoid as it felt so dramatic the first time, maybe the second time just doesn't feel the same.
I have not yet had my booking in appointment and won't for another two weeks - my scan date is yet to come through. It all feels wrong and I don't know how I can manage another two weeks feeling so wrong.
Anybody have any positive experiences with feeling no symptoms? Is it more worrying that my symptoms seem to have disappeared?
I want this baby so badly.

every pregnancy is different so try not to worry. that said, if you are really worried, see if you can self-refer to a local emergency gynae unit where they can do a scan (or pay for a private one). I've had three miscarriages and one birth - one of the miscarriages had the most symptoms and in the successful pregnancy i had no symptoms at all!

Sleepwhenidie · 21/04/2011 20:54

3 successful pgs, no symptoms at all in first couple of months (except sore boobs 1st time). You are probably just v lucky, I am sure those who suffered terrible morning sickness would say so!

cece · 21/04/2011 20:57

I've never had any symptoms whatsoever in the first trimester, apart from sore boobs when I am about 1 week late for my af.

DoubleDiffedDachs · 21/04/2011 21:02

I'm 16 weeks pg with twins and still have no symptoms (apart from my jeans being too tight earlier!) I had no morning sickness, and no perceptible boob tingling or enlargement and spent most of the first trimester (and most of the second so far!) freaking out about lack of symptoms. Butt here are still two healthy little wrigglers squirming away inside. Last year I had a mmc with lots and lots of symptoms, so symptoms are not necessarily indicative of what's going on and all pregnancies are different.

I paid for a private scan to reassure me - some places do them quite cheap for reassurance in the first trimester.

trixie123 · 21/04/2011 21:06

I had no symptons with either for ages. Enjoy it - feel fortunate that you can look after your DC1 with no sickness etc. It is less dramatic and when you tell people the reaction will be less than last time - no real help for it. Assuming everything is fine, just appreciate this time of feeling ok (am in last 3 weeks of pg2 and getting very fed up!)

IWillNotNeverEatATomato · 21/04/2011 21:13

With my DS2 I had no symptoms but was reassured when I started feeling movements at approx 14 weeks

whereas was sick twice everyday in the first three months with DS1 and got just about every other symptom in the book

edwinbear · 21/04/2011 21:17

hi, i'm also 9 weeks and no symptoms at all, no ms, no weight gain, no sore boobs, no tiredness. its my 2nd pregnancy and i actually keep forgetting i'm pregnant. i paid £75 for a reassurance scan a week ago which was great, although i'm now convinced something has happened since, i'm sure all will be fine though, its part of being a mummy :-)

sb6699 · 21/04/2011 21:55

I have 3 dc's and have never had any "symptoms", although I do get tonsilities within the first trimester I've never had morning sickness, sore boobs, swollen ankles etc.

Try not to worry.

Oh THANK YOU for all your kind replies. It's so easy just to assume the worst even though I know deep down that it's a bit irrational. Honestly lifts my spirits and helps me get some perspective.
You are all totally right - I should just be thankful that I'm feeling good enough to look after DS1 and remember just how awful ms can be...
I just need to keep pepping myself up for a couple of weeks until the scan lets me know whats what. It's just hard not to obsess though isn't it?

I had terrible symptoms with my first pg, nausea, permanent pounding headache, nuclear boobs the lot. Nothing with my next two, wouldn't have even known I was pregnant if I hadn't been trying, was your first a girl?

marthamay · 22/04/2011 09:45

Hi duckypoo - first was a boy. I was wondering whether this one could be a girl because of lack of symptoms.

Hi

I am 8 weeks and not having anything today or the day before makes me worry but so many people seem to say the same so trying not to.

youcangetpregnantstandingup · 22/04/2011 13:07

Hi, I am 9 weeks too with dc4. Don't drive yourself mad by comparing pregnancies. It really is true that every pregnancy is different. With dd1 I had really sore boobs and sickness, dd2, sickness, dd3, no sickness, this one, I feel sick. Could you get an early scan - do you have an early pregnancy unit at your hospital that would see you?

It's easy to get paranoid looking at boards like this and comparing yourself to other people - remember this is YOUR pregnancy and more than likely everything is fine. I was very paranoid with dd3 and used to tell myself, as long as I'm not bleeding or cramping, everything is fine. And it was!

TheTeaLady · 25/04/2011 21:23

Hi. I'm another 9 week-er who was about to post the same message.
Deeply unimpressed with my lack of symptoms; had a slight sore boobs and was a bit queasy a few weeks ago but that's all gone now.
Totally relate to the "keep forgetting i'm pregnant" situation.
After 2 mcs, I was super psycho-paranoid-agrophobic during my last pregnancy which did indeed eventuate in a baby. So trying to chill a bit now. Easter eggs are a good distraction :-)
Good luck everyone... let us know how it goes.

starshaker · 25/04/2011 21:28

Im the same with chandellina although ive had 5 mc and 2 successful pregnancies. I had awful symptoms with dd1, sick every day, tired and just felt awful. With the twins i had very little symptoms and did lots of PT most of which came back neg (so u can imagine my paranoia). But i now have 9 month old twins and they are fantastic. Enjoy your pregnancy and try (easier said than done) not to worry, but if you are then ask for an early scan to put your mind at rest.
