Hello,

I know Folic acid is advised for the first 12 weeks. I'm now 16 + 3, should I be taking anything else?

Thanks

I had awful morning sickness all through pg and barely could eat anything so I took Sanatogen Pregnancy vitamins just to make myself feel like I had a better chance of baby getting some of the right vits/minerals it needed. These are them, though packaging has changed www.boots.com/en/Sanatogen-ProNatal-90-Tablets_10581/

I would go and have a good luck at all the packaging, stuff like santogen is often twice the price of own brand but no different in content. I also noticed the conception and pregnancy pills are often the same too.

If you're eating well I wouldn't necessarily bother, I didn't take any in 1st PG and DD is fine, but have decided to take vitamins in 2nd, I was looking out for Folic acid and vitamin D (which most people are short on), iron as I was anaemic in last pg, and calcium because I hate milk!

It's really a matter of choice. I carry on taking Pregnacare with the omega 3 capsule throughout pregnancy, just as a safeguard.

Have just bought the sainsbury's own version of pregnacare. around £2.80 a box (30) and on 3 for 2. So I got 90 days worth for about £7. Really good offer and has all the same things in as the leading brands.

And if you don't mind splashing the cash a bit and prefer herbal then Florodix from Holland and Barrett is good but £££ for not a very big bottle. My MW recommended that to me but I didn't want to spend all that if I couldn't tolerate the taste because of my HG.

I am taking Biocare Antenatal Forte (it was recommended by a MW) and has a very good composition incl. iron - my blood tests always come up great and my MW was commenting on how good my iron levels are.....
I also take probiotics and digestive enzymes - they are completely safe in pregnancy and I have had no digestive problems at all, considering the fact that my eating habits have been ruled by nausea and lack of appetite I think these supplements def. helped.
