So tired! Is it just me?

At 15 weeks I'm still just SO tired, I can sleep all morning. I thought the exhaustion was meant to end after the 1st trimester?
I'm finding it hard to motivate myself to do anything too. Anyone have any advice? I'm self-employed so don't have to go to work, which doesn't help.
Otherwise I'm pretty good just need a virtual kick in the backside maybe!?

I was exactly the same this time around which came as a bit of a shock as I was fine by 12 weeks with my previous 2 pregnancies. But it did end at 16 weeks almost overnight. I was literally crying on the phone to my husband one day saying I couldn't cope and needed to get some help with the boys I was so tired and the next day I was fine wondering what I was making a fuss about. Hopefully you will be the same! Hang in there - at least you don't have to go to work feeling wretched - that has made a big difference to me this time around. Be kind to yourself sleep as much as you can and watch daytime TV and DVDs if that's what you feel like doing! You won't get the opportunity again for a while soon ...

i have no idea how I used to work full time, drink all night, sleep 3 hours and do it all again the next day plus keep a house tidy and walk 2 dogs.....now working part time, I don't do anything at home as OH does it all and I am still knackered.

lolajane2009 · 19/04/2011 19:02

nope i'm 18 + 4 and still exhausted most of the time.

luluzulu · 19/04/2011 19:51

the only time i had a bit more energy was between months 5 and 7. with a couple of weeks to go i'm completely knackered again and just CANT peel myself off the bed. i do feel for you girls whose majority of thier pregnancy will be in summer i just dont know if i could cope with that?
i'm glad my pregnancy will be over soon as the heat is exhausting.

I am absolutely exhausted tonight first time so far was wondering when the symptoms would start

PinkFondantFancy · 20/04/2011 07:52

I am the same - currently 17 weeks and have been exhausted all the way through, so much so that I'm actually signed off work because I'm incapable of doing my job this tired Confused Am waiting for this promised 2nd trimester energy surge...... I live in hope! Grin

lolajane2009 · 20/04/2011 09:04

my sister in law never got her energy surge with either of her children... i blame the boys genetics...

Cattleprod · 20/04/2011 09:07

I thought I would be ok after my 12 week scan - thought the tiredness was psychological stress after previous mc. But no, still tired at 13 weeks. Struggling to get anything done. I feel so useless!

PinkFondantFancy · 20/04/2011 09:19

Noooooo Lola say it's not true!!! Cattleprod - exactly the same here, I thought it was just from constant worry but now I've finally allowed myself to start to relax a bit it hasn't really made any difference. One MW reckoned it might be different after 18 weeks - we'll see!

lolajane2009 · 20/04/2011 11:04

the worse thing is that i trust SIL as she is a doctor. but i think it is george genes tbh.

mmmcookies · 20/04/2011 17:41

Thanks ladies! Glad I'm not alone, I was starting to get frustrated with myself, but I guess that's not going to help. Still keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get that surge though!
Luluzulu - I'm dreading the summer! I'm a Brit now living in DC and it's already 27C! By June / July it'll be 30-35 with, often 100% humidity, and won't cool down til October when I'm due. I might stay inside a lot!!
