Ah progesterone is the issue. I had this too. Although you are going (diarrhoea) this might be because you have hard old poo which only allows watery ones thru'. I'm veggie too. Lactulose from my GP (you should have it prescribed) helped after a few days and one piece of seeded bread!!

I had this too (and not jusy in my 1st trimester either) get some branflakes and eat 2 bowls a day. You will be back to normal in a week or so!

Albrecht · 19/04/2011 13:04

Don't be so Blush its pretty normal.

BikeRunSki · 19/04/2011 13:08

That's nothing. I am 13 weeks, and until last week I had not "been" for 3 or 4 weeks. Doc had me on Senna, Lactulose and Movicol, and nothing was shifting it.

A packet of liquorice got it out in the end.

something similar happening here - the way i look at it, it's better than vomiting. though what i'd really like is to just go to sleep until week 13, and not have to deal with any of the horrendous effects of early pregnancy...

AllTheYoungDoods · 19/04/2011 14:06

Have had it pretty much every morning here.

And now vomiting to boot.

I am so fecking glamorous right now!

theonlyhb2 · 19/04/2011 14:08

that started in my first trimester, now at 23 weeks I often am constipated, when I do go its only a little and sloppy (and then I have to go a few times), have devolped piles, and also the feeling of constipation makes me puke. So mornings are great! Puke, poo, puke again, poo.....

Lizziefinch · 23/04/2011 18:45

Same. I'm 10 weeks. Figs and prunes on muesli have helped, but stomach/ bowels still v sensitive and prone to melodrama. Even had a long dream about having to sit on the toilet so long that I was hopelessly late for work!!! When I got up it pretty much came true [bublush]

Lizziefinch · 23/04/2011 18:49

PS find figs and prunes better than branflakes personally, and linseeds work very well but I may have read somewhere not a great idea in pregnancy. Might be only because they can be VERY effective for consitpation, I can't remember.
