Back and leg aches?

Hi, I'm 14+2 and have found in the last few days that any amount of walking (e.g. supermarket), standing or climbing stairs leaves me with a very achy lower back and thighs and my hips often feel a bit sore. Is anyone else experiencing this? Also occasionally feel stabbing pains in the fanjo area (just above the pubic bone I think). Please tell me its not SPD... am dreading the thought I might get it as my house is all stairs! Also is there anything I can do to relieve it?

Any advice gratefully received, tia.

Hello, it could just be your body begining to adapt to carrying the baby and other bump stuff. This site gives some good advice on how to avoid back ache etc in pregnancy. www.katysays.com/2011/03/07/when-push-comes-to-shove/

Thanks Joannezipan, that is a useful site.

Any more ideas anyone? (shameless bump!)

Bump!

I can't offer any useful advice but I am 16 weeks and going through the same - I did seriously start to wonder if one of my legs was about to fall off the other day so will be watching this thread with interest.

I figured if I can't help I can at least bump :)

I had really badly aching legs at around 14 weeks -- now 20 weeks and they're much better.

Try sleeping with a pillow between your knees if you're not already -- that helped with mine.

try doing some of these www.wikihealth.com/Yoga_poses_for_sciatica, otherwise do lots of stretching
