My brother and sister an law have used Mr Kumar for 3 of their 4 babies and recommend him very highly (C-section for all those 3).

I am seeing Keith Duncan @ C&W, so far seems lovely (I am 18+4). I chose the C&W as it is very close to me and I also particularly wanted Mr Duncan. Am happy to answer any more specific questions if you have any.

Sorry to clarify I meant my brother-in-law and sister-in-law

Thanks citymonkey...i am 18w today and still confused abt my consultant ! Actually just moved to london so still trying to figure it all out..do you live in chiswick ? QC and CW are both close to us so thats not the deciding factor unfortunately...really like the state of the art Kensington Wing but also the warmth at the Stanley Clayton ward...you all set for your 20w scan ?

Gubby Ayida is very popular at C&W. She gets booked up very quickly. You can also try Nick Wales and Keith Duncan there who are just as great. The best thing to do is visit the hospitals and meet a couple of consultants (prepare a detailed list of questions and see whose responses you like better and who you are most comfortable with)...

I live in Kensington (nr Glos Rd) - I can literally walk there in 10 mins so was a total no brainer for me! I had a 17 week scan and all was well thank goodness, having another at 22 weeks. Quite excited about that one as baby will have grown a lot, but also nervous as they can see more then to check for other abnormalities etc...

I haven't even actually visited the Kensington Wing [sheepish emoticon]... the reason I am seeing a consultant privately is because I am freakishly anxious to have the best person I can get at the birth and in the run up to it. I am not that bothered about the room etc. I picked Mr Duncan after some research and also liked the idea that he does all of your scans so you really only see one person throughout.

Hello Sumi76, have you decided on your consultant by now? It's my 11th week now and considering Stanley Clayton ward/ Kensignton too. It'd be nice to hear your experience.

Hi I live in Chiswick and went with Stanley Clayton ward at QC. My consultant was Mr Edmonds but Mr Kumar did all my scans etc - both were excellent. I have friends whose primary consultant was Nr Kumar and they were really pleased. The care on the ward was fantastic, midwives very caring and helpful with feeding etc, it was a brilliant experience, highly recommended. Good luck! x

Would also highly recommend QC and Stanley Clayton, my consultant was Mr McCarthy, who was fantastic during a very difficult high risk pregnancy, would highly recommend him. Mr Kumar did all my scans though and he was great, always very reassuring and professional.

Good luck making a choice :)

I guess its too late now, but Kingston Hospital does Private Care too. If you are not bothered about the room and want someone experienced at the delivery is a good choice. Its much cheaper than other Private wings. Good Luck
