Would yoou be able to share when you felt your baby move for the first time. I am having my third baby at the end of September and am 16.5 weeks and have not felt the baby move for definite. I have had a few bubbly sensations but these may have been wind. I never reocorded when I felt DS1 or 2 move and am sure DS2 was around 16 weeks. Am very anxious this time around as had a miscarriage in Nov and my next scan is not until 23 weeks. I have a doppler thing and can hear heartbeat but was just wondering if I should be feeling a few movements and if the baby is growing ok.

Hi Kitkey, sorry about your miscarriage last year. I had one before this as well so know the paranoia over everything! My dd I felt around 20/21 weeks, ds was around 17/18 wks and this one I think was around 19/20 weeks. I also have a doppler and used that to reassure myself. To be honest I still do (33wks) as the baby is breech and has well and truly hidden itself behind my anterior placenta! Not feeling movements now is normal so try not to worry :)

Hi Kitkey, sorry to hear about your miscarriage, and you too Knackered. We had to end our last pregnancy due to serious defects which meant our baby wouldn't survive and am now pregnant again, I have 2 DD's at home already and I am completely paranoid this time around. I felt both DD's at around 16 weeks, this one I noticed the flutters just before 16 weeks but have only just been getting definate baby kicks and wriggles, I am 17+3 now, and I would say it was only a few days ago that I was certain it was baby and not wind.
We had our 16 week check up a few days ago and it took the consultant a long time to pick up the heart beat, which was very stressful. But turns out baby was hiding over to one side....!
Ive never used one of the home dopplers, where can you pick one up? And are they expensive?

Hiya, I am 20 weeks, with my 3rd, and not sure if I've felt movemwnt, or just wind?
I felt movement with my other two at about 16/18 weeks.
I've got my scan tommorow, and really nervous, as havn't had any other symptoms this time.
I felt everything with the first two! Confused

Just had dd3 - 9 weeks ago, definitely felt much less movement and any movement I did feel was much later in the pregnancy. Not sure why, dd3 was breech until 36 weeks but so was dd2 and I felt her very early. If its any help I worried much more in this pregnancy than the previous two.

The midwives also took a little more time finding the heartbeat in appts than I felt comfortable with Grin. At one appt the midwife couldn't find the heartbeat but we could both feel her moving! Good luck.

Hi there, i'm also prg with my 3rd (16weeks). I've been wondering about movement too as i do get the odd 'sensation' but wonder if it's just the way i've been sitting, maybe my tummy has been in an awkward position for the baby? Definately nothing that i would be certain is baby moving. Like a few ladies, i had a an early MC last year and am paranoid that something is going to go wrong with this one... roll on the 20wk scan...

nunnie · 19/04/2011 10:37

I am 17 weeks with my 3rd and haven't felt anything for definate yet.

spazza1 · 26/04/2011 14:14

I guess we're all a bit slacker the more pregs we clock up...... :)
I'm 16wks with contestant number 3, plus a blighted ovum 18months ago, so there's def paranoia this time....
I'm not sure about the bloops I felt over the past couple of days are the real deal :) or muscular, but I am sure that it's all a little bit looser in there the more babies we have, so more room for bobbing around and less contact with the sides, I guess :)
BBs S x

hi kitkey, i'm about 17.5 weeks with my 33rd and haven't felt the baby move for definate either. keep hoping for some inkling to make sure all is ok. had a MC last year too so know how you are feeling x

nicklenackle · 26/04/2011 17:07

Hi Kitkey - I'm 17 1/2 weeks with my third and still haven't really felt anything. I was pretty worried as I know I felt movement from quite early on with DD2, but when I had a scan a week or so ago (for something else), the sonographer said that I have an anterior placenta which is effectively cushioning all the kicks. Apparently as the uterus grows everything shifts and then baby can keep you awake all night without any problem Grin Do you know where your placenta is? Might be the same thing..

del1 · 27/04/2011 21:52

I had my 20 week scan, and they said I had an anterior placenta like nicklenackle.
This means my placenta is at the front, so its sort of in the way of feeling your baby move.
So they said that would explain why I hadn't felt much.
I can feel some movement now ( 22 weeks), but it is only on the far left hand side of my stomach, or very low down.
I am a bit dissapointed to be honest, as I love feeling the first kicks.
Hope nicklenackle is right, and it does move as I grow!
